In-person Workshop

Breaking the Illusion of Diabetes Control

Friday, October 16th · 1-5PM · Marina Village Conference Center

Less self-blame. More self-trust

soundwave.png

This is an intimate, first‑of‑its‑kind event blending clinical care and mental health support in a warm, judgment‑free environment.

Insider tips from two professionals who live with diabetes every day and have built their careers around helping others navigate it.

A session that feels like sitting down for a real appointment, but in a room full of people who get it.

Bring your data. Bring something you’ve been struggling with.

An Interactive
In-Person Workshop

Diabetes is often presented as something we should be able to control.

So when blood sugars don't cooperate, many of us assume we're doing something wrong.

We blame ourselves. We second-guess every decision. We become afraid to make changes.

And over time, we lose confidence.

But what if the problem isn't you?

What if the problem is the expectation of control itself?

Join therapist, and diabetes author of Bright Spots & Landmines, Adam Brown, alongside diabetes educator and RN, CDCES Aimée Jose for a transformative afternoon exploring both the clinical and emotional sides of diabetes.

Together, we'll help you understand your data more clearly, respond to challenges with curiosity instead of criticism, and make diabetes decisions with greater confidence and less fear.

Bring your questions.

Bring your experiences.

Bring your data.

Leave with practical skills, new perspective, and a healthier relationship with diabetes.

Less self-blame. More self-trust.

Who Is It For

This workshop is for adults living with Type 1 diabetes who want to better understand their data without adding more pressure or judgment.

You do not need to be a "data person." Whether you use a CGM, pump, injections, or a combination of tools, you'll learn practical ways to make your data feel more useful and less overwhelming.

Why This Event is Different

Most diabetes education focuses on the numbers.

Most mental health support focuses on emotions.

Living with diabetes requires both.

For one afternoon, you'll learn from two professionals addressing diabetes from complementary perspectives:

🧠 Mental Health + Lived Experience

👩‍⚕️ Clinical Expertise + Data Interpretation + Lived Experience

Because confidence isn't built through control.

Confidence is built through understanding.

What You'll Leave With

  • Greater confidence making diabetes decisions

  • A better understanding of your patterns and data

  • Less fear of making adjustments

  • Practical tools for navigating uncertainty

  • Greater self-trust

  • New ways to approach challenges without self-criticism

  • Skills you can use immediately

  • Connection with others who truly understand
